Connie Alexander, MD

Dr. Connie Alexander graduated St. Georges University School of Medicine, and completed her residency program in adult psychiatry at The Medical University of South Carolina in 1999. She is Board Certified with the American Board of Psychiatry and specializes in addiction medicine and adult psychology.

Todd Magro, MD

Dr. Magro is a Board Certified Psychiatrist who graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine. He completed his residency at The Medical University of South Carolina in 2012, where he participated in the National Institute on Drug Abuse-funded fellowship Drug Abuse Research Training Program, focusing on medications for treatment of Alcohol Use Disorders. He then completed the Addiction Psychiatry subspecialty fellowship at MUSC in 2013 and joined Barrier Islands Psychiatry. Dr. Magro’s interests include mood disorders, anxiety disorders, PTSD, ADHD, Suboxone (buprenorphine), addiction, and the connection between the brain and body. Julia Rodriguez, APRN

I am a board certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and I work with clients who suffer from depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, substance abuse, PTSD, and schizophrenia. My approach to care is tailored to the client’s needs and may include psychotherapy and/or medication, depending on his or her preferences. I also incorporate nutrition and exercise as treatment tools based on the most up-to-date research about these approaches. I am experienced in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Trauma-Focused CBT, CBT for eating disorders, Exposure Therapy for OCD and specific phobias, Prolonged Exposure Therapy for PTSD, and marriage counseling. Stacey Whitaker Stacey Whitaker is a NCCPA board certified Physician Assistant. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of California, Santa Barbara and went on to complete her Masters degree from Nova Southeastern University. She enjoys working in behavioral medicine, with patients going through life changes, or dealing with depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorder, schizophrenia and dementia related behaviors.

Leah Yeager, LISW-CP

Steve is a graduate of the University of South Carolina having retired from the US Air Force after 21 years.He has worked in the substance abuse and mental health field for over 19 years and specializes in treating substance abuse, sexual and on-line pornography addiction, depression, anxiety, and trauma. Steve also works with couples struggling with relationship issues, focusing on recovering trust, improving communication, and re-establishing intimacy.
